Cat Identification Renewals

If you own a cat, you need to renew the animal license once per year. All licenses expire on December 31st of the current year. It’s important to keep this information up to date.

5 Ways To Purchase:

  • Renew through the mail by mailing back your signed invoice that you received, accompanied with credit card information filled out, a cheque, or money order for payment. DO NOT SEND CASH PLEASE. LACC is not responsible for any missing cash payments sent through the mail.

  • Renew in-person at City Hall with invoice. You must have your invoice with you to make payment for renewal.

  • To receive the reduced rate for a spayed, neutered, & microchipped pet, you must provide proof of surgery & microchipping at the time you purchase your pet's license or identification. This is an invoice for the surgery/microchipping from your veterinarian. If you are unable to find your receipt, your vet should be able to provide a copy.
  • To qualify for the Senior Owner discount, the primary owner listed on the animal’s registration must be 65 years of age or older. Please advise our office of the Senior Owner status, in print or over the phone, whenever you are registering your pets.
  • Please have with you you must provide proof of surgery & microchipping at the time you purchase your pet's license or identification. This is an invoice for the surgery/microchipping from your veterinarian. If you are unable to find your receipt, your vet should be able to provide a copy.
  • Provincial Offense Notice Failure to renew a dog license or cat identification can result in penalties (increased license fee, a ticket which includes a fine or court action).

Late Fee Rules

  1. Please be advised that renewal applications submitted starting March 1st are subject to late fees in the amount $3.00 per cat identification as per City of London by-laws.
  2. Additional late fees are applicable for renewal applications submitted starting June 1st in the amount of $5.00 per cat as per City of London by-laws.

London Animal Care Centre is a private corporation under contract to the City of London to provide animal control, dog licensing, cat identification, bylaw enforcement and shelter services.
